WOMEN'S IMPROVEMENT CLUB OF CORONA (WICC)
SCHOLARSHIP

Availability & Qualifications:


AVAILABILITY:

Woman’s Improvement Club of Corona’s scholarship funds are available to high school seniors graduating and adult education, for the current academic year from the Corona/Norco Unified School District. Scholarship is to be used by students who are graduating for the academic year following high school graduation at an accredited college or university, community college or trade/technical school. Recipient must show proof of enrollment of 8 units or more.

QUALIFICATIONS:

This scholarship recognizes volunteer service in the school and community and does not have a grade point average restriction or requirement, with regards to volunteering.

Applicant must:

1. Show financial need.

2. Provide an essay addressing three specific areas (below)

3. Provide two (2) Letters of Recommendation: one from a community volunteer leader and the other a member of the high school faculty.

4. GPA of 3.0 or higher plus a copy of their transcripts.

    1. a. Who you are, where you come from, what challenges you may or may not have been through. Your career plans, goals, objective and any other information you feel would be valuable to the selection committee.

    1. b. All school service-related activities:

    1. i. Including any service, you provide to others in your school.

    1. ii Without using abbreviations for any organizations listed.

    c.   Your volunteer service in the community; (Do not include school activities listed in 3b below)

    1. 3. Reference letters:

    1. a. Letters of Recommendation written specifically for this scholarship application.

    1. b. Letters of Recommendation completed by a community volunteer leader with whom student applicant has served (may not be related to student)

    2. c. Letters of Recommendation written specifically for this scholarship application

    3. d. Copies of Letters of Recommendation for college admission are NOT acceptable.

  • WICC Scholarship Application
  • WICC Essay 
    • Additional essay addressing three specific areas 
  • Two letters of recommendation (teacher/school official or employer/community member/church).  Letters should attest to the student's abilities and good character: Request for Letter of Recommendation (fillable PDF)
  • WIC Reference Form to be included for each Letter of Recommendation.



Selection Process:
  • ERHS committee will select 5 top candidates for WIC.  Selection will be made by the Woman's Improvement Scholarship committee 
  • Application Due February 12, 2025
