Scholarships/Financial Aid

There are several types of financial aid.  Learning about each option can assist in determining the best choice.  All students pursuing education or career training after high school should apply for financial aid.

Quick Overview

  • Grants - money that does not need to be paid back
  • Federal Aid - money from the federal government
  • State Aid - money from the State of California
  • Work Study -  a program that provides students with a part-time job on their college campus to assist with college expenses
  • Scholarships - money for college that does not need to be paid back. Students need to search and apply to these on their own.
  • Loans - money that is borrowed that accrues interest and will need to be paid back.
Most students will apply for financial aid by submitting their FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Aid)
