EASTVALE - On Friday, June 10th Rondo School of Discovery held its 1st Annual Art Walk. Rondo School of Discovery is one of the only elementary schools in the district to host an art show displaying art created by students from TK to 6th grade. There were over 1,000 pieces of student-created art on display throughout the school!
The event is a fundraiser to support art at Rondo, and parents have the opportunity to purchase their child’s art the night of the event. The Art Walk also features a photo display from the Rondo School of Discovery after-school photo club, which is made up of 5th and 6th-grade students.
In addition, Eastvale artist Yun Wei conducted a live interactive oil painting session. Original works of art from Rosemary Tuthill were also featured. Food trucks were on-site for families to enjoy dinner at the event as well.
The halls of the school were filled with music from a quartet of talented musicians from the Corona Symphony Orchestra student conservatory. There were fun family activities, including art lessons from Elementary Art Stars, a Chinese-inspired art project, calligraphy lessons, and face painting. Children could even create their own unique beaded bracelets. "Over 1,000 people attended this great event, and we look forward to making the Rondo School of Discovery Art Walk bigger and better next year!" said Ms. Rife, teacher and organizer of the event.
