10th Grade


Sophomore Year

Now that you've gotten used to the academics and social aspect of high school, you'll continue with doing well in your classes and participating in extracurricular activities. In addition to that, make sure you do the below:

  • Review Sophomore newsletter in the link above. 
  • Review high school graduation requirements and college admission "A-G" requirements
  • Start exploring college options and requirements
  • Log into CaliforniaColleges.edu to review the resources available to you for career and college planning
  • If you want to play sports in college, review the NCAA and NAIA requirements. 
  • Sign up for a practice ACT or SAT. The UC/CSU no longer requires the SAT or ACT for admission. If you are interested in private or out of state colleges/universities, please review each schools testing requirements. If you plan to play college sports, the NCAA also requires testing.
  • Volunteer for 25 hours or more in an activity or organization that you enjoy. 
  • Continue to get involved in school or extra curricular activities
  • Continue to earn C's or better, make a plan if you need to make-up a class. 
  • Meet with your School Counselor to discuss questions or your plans after high school
