Sophomore Year College Planning Checklist

Now that you've gotten used to the academics and social aspect of high school, you'll continue with doing well in your classes and participating in extracurricular activities. In addition to that, make sure you do the below:
  • UC/CSU: No longer require the SAT or ACT for admission. If you are interested in private or out of state colleges/universities, please review each schools testing requirements. If you plan to play college sports, the NCAA also requires testing.
  • CaliforniaColleges.edu: Utilize this website to plan out your next 4 years. There are so many resources available on this site, including a high school timeline, college information, financial aid, scholarships, career inventory, etc.
  • Begin learning about the college admissions process for the colleges you're interested in, whether they are UCs, CSUs, private, or community colleges.
Continue to: explore your interests and potential careers, be involved with extracurricular activities, make sure you're on track for A-G classes, keep your grades up, etc.
